In-class lecture style course covering confined space issues. Participants will be introduced to confined space issues such as the hierarchy of risk management, AS/NZS2865:2009 legislative requirements, equipment selection and use, culminating in the correct procedure for preparation and entry into a confined space. Participants will be introduced to confined space issues such as hazards identification, heirachy of control, legislative requirements, task planning, equipment selection and use, gas detection strategies and rescue planning, culminating in the correct procedure for preparation of and entry into a confined space. A statement of attainment will be issued for each participant attending the entire course and participating in the required activities, and passing the written and practical exams. The course is completed over 16hours (two days) for those who do not currently hold the competency and over 8hours (one day) for those wanting to complete a refresher course, typically every two years. The Breathing Apparatus competency is only valid for 12 months in line with AS/NZS1715:2009. The course covers: - Legislation and standards
