Height Safety Equipment PDF Print E-mail

Working at height or in fact anywhere there is a risk of a fall, can be a complex balancing act. Accidents do happen and can lead to significant injury and even death.

Planning the task properly, taking into account both passive and active methods of preventing falls is always the first stop. If a risk of a fall still exists, we need to make sure that the fall is arrested in such a way to minimise injury to the worker.

Proper planning will involved assessing the problem, employing all possible practical prevention measures and what happens if things do go wrong. This includes the selection of the proper gear for the job and having a well thought out, planned, prepared and rehearsed rescue plan.

This may include the use of full body safety harnesses, shock absorbing lanyards, self retracting lifelines, connecting these together in a system and also equipment for rescue.

MSS represent world leading manufacturers such as Capital Safety (SALA, Protecta) and Spanset.
